What do you tell your 3 year old when he says are we going to die? Do you see where this is going? Tears, sadness and then I'll tell you what Elliott did.
So, I said to him that everyone dies. Yes, there were tears and sadness on his part. But, I said, for every minute that you are sad there is a minute that you will miss out on doing something fun and exciting. I said that it will be a long time before you die, so lets not talk about it because it is making me sad too.
He finishes his drink and gold fish and then he says things like, but I won't be able to play with my green truck when I am dead and I will be thirsty when I am dead and being dead is not fun. TIL (Today I Learned) kids are a lot more honest, straight forward, understand our world and know more than we think they do.
